August 19, 2021. For Immediate Release. RE: NPP SNATCHED PARLIAMENTARY SEATS - Alban Bagbin. The attention of the General Secretary of the NPP, Mr. John Boadu, has been drawn to a publication on Ghanaweb and other news portals on the above caption, in relation to him, which publication had been attributed to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin.  It was reported that the Speaker had told a delegation of the Ethiopian Parliament, the Ethiopian Political Parties Joint Council (EPPJC), on Wednesday, August 12, 2021, that, he [John Boadu] was on record to have admitted that Parliament had gone in favor of the opposition NDC, and so, the NPP had to resort to other means to win back some seats.  “They would have had a minority in parliament with a president. Their General Secretary even announced it, but they, last-minute, made some movements and some seats were snatched. That one is a statement of fact”, Bagbin was reported to have said.  The General Secretar...

Image
_12/08/2021_ _For Immediate Release_  NPP YOUTH WING: STATEMENT ON THE COMMEMORATION OF INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY Today, the National Youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) joins the United Nations (UN) to mark the International Youth Day — a celebration of the exploits and contribution of young people across the world in creating sustainable impact — under the theme “Transforming Food Systems – Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health”. We acknowledge the difficulties that confront the Ghanaian youth, especially those who lost their livelihoods at the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated economic and social troubles. Admittedly, the pandemic has eroded some gains made by the government; however, evidence abound, as acknowledged by the IMF and World Bank, that the competence management of the pandemic  coupled with prudent economic management and the implementation of well thought through policies like Planting for Food and Jobs have not only help...

Re-Hon. Isaac Adongo to Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia

Image
Re-Hon. Isaac Adongo to Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia   Economics is the study of human behaviour and for one not to understand the behaviour of Hon Adongo is to lack the foundation of economics. Real economics, to put basically, focuses on behaviour of human being in the context of unlimited wants and scarce resource. The economics one needs to understand Hon. Adongo’s behaviour can be termed “Political Behavioural Economics”, defined as the erratic behaviour of a politician to coherent and cogent argument using nebulous concept and farcical jargon to score cheap political acceptance and popularity. This political behaviour has always driven Hon. Adongo to say something in response to whatever is being said by Dr. Bawumia. So, I am the least surprised about the so-called reply to excerpts of the speech by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia at the Central Regional TESCON Conference.  Characteristic of any reply by Adongo to brilliance  (Dr. Bawumia) is dearth in knowledge. But as a student of ec...

On the impact of debt on other economic variables, Prof. Bokpin concedes to Dr. Bawumia on JoyFm that there has been some improvements.

On the impact of debt on other economic variables, Prof. Bokpin concedes to Dr. Bawumia on JoyFm that there has been some improvements. He said “ If we look at it in relation to other macro economic variables we have to seen some improvements” Pro Bopkin was asked a direct question on whether a comparison of performance by the Vice President puts the NPP ahead of the NDC and he had this to say: “On the economic front, particularly the macro variables, yes, you can’t take that away from them. You can’t take it away from the NPP, you can’t. The numbers are there and they speak for themselves” Prof however thinks the NPP should be comparing itself to Ghana’s peers and not the NDC. NB: We have repeatedly maintained that on the economy, there’s no way the NDC will beat the NPP. It is the reason why when Dr. Bawumia puts out the numbers they avoid same and go after his person! 236 People Reached 8 Engagements -4.4x Lower Distribution Score Boost Post 7 You and 6 others
