The president opened vehicular traffic on the Afienya Road

 Earlier this month, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a working visit to the 97.3 km Tema to Mpakadan Railway project which currently stands at about 99.4 % completion. Currently, plans are far advanced to secure some railway coaches for operation on the line once work is complete within the first quarter of 2023. 


The president opened vehicular traffic on the Afienya Road over Bridge and Inspected work on the Volta rail bridge amongst others as part of his visit.

The Tema-  Mpakadan railway project is part of a multi mo


dal transport project involving rail, road, and lake transport systems from Tema to Buipe.


This project upon completion will improve Existing port operations at the Tema; resulting in a reduced vessel waiting time, and container dwelling time which would lead to the competitiveness of the port and enhance safety.

  President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo   has urged all Ghanaians to be prepared to make sacrifices as part of efforts to make Ghana a progressive, happy and prosperous country.
